The Origin of the Blog

Because I saw Next.js in many places, I learned about it and wanted to learn it. My way of learning is to let AI guide me to build a project, and then apply the various features of this technology in this project. Of course, I don't really want to learn the code, I just want to understand what this technology can make. So I quickly built this website where I can blog using Cursor.

Future Plans

I made a personal website before, but it was a static webpage written in HTML, mainly displaying my social platforms and released software works. However, to make a website successful, traffic is essential. Of course, social media promotion is one way, but I look forward more to organic search traffic from search engines. So, I may need to do some SEO, but the previous static website was hard to achieve this. When I understood the difference between Next.js and HTML, I thought about building a blog system and migrating the previous website over. On this personal website, I will not only publish my articles but also display my software works. I think this will make the website more useful. Otherwise, a pure software display website is hard to attract organic traffic. After all, content is what attracts attention nowadays.

Another Use for Blogging

I have been using Obsidian to record a lot of thoughts and summaries, but they always exist locally on my computer, and their value is hard to utilize. If this blog system runs well, I can organize some of my thoughts and summaries on the blog system in the future. Even though a blog system is an old thing, I have never owned one, and I am still very excited. After all, this is my own territory, which feels very different from publishing content on other platforms. This fits my ADHD characteristics very well, haha.
